You enter through the original oak studded front door which leads to the Great Hall with a beautiful oak inlaid fireplace and oak furniture of the period. This is an incredibly atmospheric room especially when lit by candle light in the evening. Our main dining table is here which seats 16 but can be extended.
There are 3 more reception rooms which ooze period details including the drawing room with an enormous 15th Century open fireplace, the paneled yellow sitting room with French windows leading to the croquet lawn and a very large sitting room overlooking the gardens with French windows leading to the terrace.
Plus there's a small library, a fantastic thatched pavilion with a huge sofa for relaxing next to the heated pool and toddlers to teens will love the chill out den which is stacked with toys, books, dvds and family friendly games, the chalk wall offers hours of fun for any budding artists.
The large country kitchen has a 4 oven Aga, large French fruitwood table and comfortable leopard print chairs for just sitting and chatting. We are well equipped for cooks and have a huge range of cookery books although, of course, we can help with catering if you prefer whether it's a chef cooked celebratory meal or dropping off food for a more casual supper.
As you would expect there is a laundry room, a traditional pantry and a boot room.
Two staircases lead you up to the 5 first floor bedrooms - a wide impressive oak staircase just past The Great Hall or a smaller service stair by the kitchen. The 6th and 7th bedrooms along with the attic dorm are accessed by two staircases from the first floor.
