Gardens and Grounds

The gardens are stunning and provide a delightful private setting with 17 acres of formal gardens, spacious lawns, paddocks and woodlands for you to explore, relax and have fun in.

Double yew hedges and topiary grace both the front and rear lawns. The main herbaceous borders are close to the house. There’s also a sunken garden, the remains of the old moat, a rose walk as well as the Spanish Garden containing a wisteria clad pergola, water-rills, pools and a loggia with seating and sunset views to the church - it's the perfect sundowner spot.

The heated outdoor pool (open May to September) is south facing and is set close to the house with extensive terraces for relaxing and al-fresco dining. Next to the pool is the outdoor thatched pavilion which is perfect for relaxing whatever the weather. In addition there is a full sized tennis court and croquet lawn.

Children will love the huge lawns with plenty of room for games or just running around, the acres of garden and woodland give them the freedom to explore with a sense of adventure - escaping to the tree house or building a den in the woods when they need a break from adults or if you need a break from them! If you have older children we can organise camping in the grounds in our bell tent.

There is wildlife in abundance here - muntjac and occasionally other deer, foxes, hares, rabbits, owls, green woodpeckers and house martins nesting in the eaves. Badgers and otters have been spotted in the village.
